The UMU has more than 29,000 students, with a teaching staff of 2,034 professors spread over 4campuses. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology A of the University of Murcia, which is the leader in this project, is formed by 20 professors and participate in the education of the biochemistry in scientific degrees such as Biochemistry, Biology, Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary. This department is divided in six Research Groups. The University of Murcia and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology A have a high scientific infrastructure to perform scientific projects in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, proteomics, genomics, cell biology, etc. The Group of Enzymolgy, for example,, has a large experience in Biotechnology and Cancer Research, and has a long term collaboration experience with Georgia and with DIBBAUG in particular.
